Online ERP Therapy for OCD, spiritual abuse and Cultural Trauma

I enthusiastically collaborate with driven, high-performing, strongly motivated clients empowering them to address anxiety, perfectionism, and uncertainty so they can lead more productive, calm, and engaging lives.

I am passionate about working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds; traditional therapy techniques can sometimes overlook unique concerns that you face.

Regardless of your background, we can work together to help you address issues of anxiety and uncertainty so that you can finally move forward to overcome the uncertainty that often holds you back from achieving your goals.

FAQ

We start by identifying your goals, and working together to create a treatment plan.  Your treatment plan will consist of specific skills that you will build on in our work together. Then the process unfolds. We will meet together on a weekly basis.

Most sessions are about fifty minutes. The first session tends to be slightly longer because I gather relevant information about your history, functioning, and goals.

Therapy does not have to be intimidating or associated with weakness or failure.  I call my practice “Skillset Counseling” because therapy is just that, learning a set of skills and applying them repeatedly over time  to help you function better in life.  Many people come to therapy when they are having a challenging or difficult time.  However, therapy can also be used to prepare you for an upcoming event, build up or enhance an already existing set of skills, or optimize your overall functioning. Many people, even therapists, participate in therapy on an ongoing basis because of the many benefits it provides. Book a free consultation to see if we will be a good fit.

Every client is unique, but treatment length can vary from weeks to months, depending on the goals you set.   My strategies tend to be dynamic, present-oriented, and solution-focused. I empower you to take what you have learned with me in sessions and apply them on your own independently in the future. Of course, I encourage all my clients to remain in therapy with me as long as they need to, and my (virtual) doors remain open as needed when you need to come back. However, we hit the ground running with your treatment plan so you can move forward with therapy and with your life.

I do! I offer online therapy  to adults in Georgia and Michigan. Research shows that online therapy is generally as effective as in-person therapy.  The process of online therapy is very easy to start; generally, all you should need is a secure internet connection and a working video connection through a phone or computer (preferred). We can talk about the details of this  during your free consultation

I do not accept insurance.  However,  I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for out-of-network providers.  To learn more about the cost of sessions with me, book a consultation and I would be happy to discuss this with you.

About Me, Dr. Foluso, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist  who specializes in evidence-based and culturally informed treatments of OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and anxiety disorders.  I am passionate about working with highly motivated individuals who are driven and successful in several areas of life but struggle with anxiety, especially with perfectionism.  Coming from a multicultural background myself, I understand that traditional therapy techniques at  times can overlook or ignore  issues unique to those who come from diverse backgrounds, so my therapy work is culturally inclusive.   Regardless of your background, I eagerly work with any individual who is ready to tackle the uncertainty that keeps them from fully engaging in the life as they desire.

I incorporate evidence-based techniques into my work.  For instance, for OCD, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a gold standard, non-medication treatment.  Effective therapy is both an art and a science, and I achieve results because of my customized, present-focused approach to treatment.  My clients describe me as providing abundant amounts of both compassion and accountability, two necessary ingredients for change.   I will listen empathically and provide a safe non-judgmental space while providing you the right amount of challenge to help propel you forward.
